About Creativity.
- The definition of creativity has been constantly changing over time as various people try to determine what it is and how to nurture it
- Creativity has many different manifestations, conceptions, and interpretations; making it difficult to assess.

- Formal education as we know, can be detrimental to creativity and can stifle innovative thinking
- According to the Flynn effect – each generation IQ scores go up about 10 points, making children “smarter”. However, with creativity the reverse is happening and the scores are dropping
- When creative children have a supportive teacher who accepts the different answers, disruptions and detours of curiosity, they tend to excel. If not, they tend to underperform or drop out.
- While we (American education) are seeking the high test scores of other countries with the focus on core subjects, other countries are seeking our old methods of creativity and innovation.
